It wasn’t until a few years ago that I had no idea what a weighted blanket was. I didn’t know they existed, but as soon as I came across a post online involving them I knew I needed one. Heading quickly over to Amazon, most weighted blankets are pretty damn expensive, so I had to just tag one on a wish list and hope I could find one that was cheaper.
Weighted blankets have always been something for calming and soothing, and when I first tried it for myself, I was in love!
Want to know why I love my weighted blanket and how it’s helped me with my anxiety? You’ll have to keep reading to find out.

Why I love my Weighted Blanket
It just so happened that during my birthday trip to Mohegan Sun, the Brookstone at the casino was going out of business. And by going out of business, I mean there was barely any variety left in the store and they were trying to sell the shelves. One of the most abundant of items was a weighted blanket at 70% off. I couldn’t say no to that offer. It ended up being a little over $46.00 total. I love it.
Helps With Sleep
One of the biggest issues I have is temperature control when I’m sleeping. I need it to be cold, but covered in blankets. My problem comes during the short period when it’s too cold for the air conditioning but still warm enough that I’ll sweat at night.
Adding a weighted blanket has been the best thing that’s happened to my sleep in a while. It makes it so I have enough blankets that I’m cool enough but the weight makes me feel comfortable since I need that weight to fall asleep.

Helps With Anxiety
While I haven’t had a panic attack yet, the weight still makes me feel comfortable and safe. Even if I’m just laying in bed I will pull it up and it just makes me feel so much better. Considering one of the most known reasons weighted blankets are used for involve children with autism and helping calm them, it definitely helps with anxiety.

Warm and Fuzzy
Not only is it helpful in the weight category, but it’s also super soft, warm, and fuzzy. I don’t know about you, but super soft feeling things make me feel really good. I have a blanket from TJ Maxx that’s so soft that sometimes I’ll just lay in bed and pet it like I would a puppy because I love the soft feeling. This blanket isn’t as soft, but it’s soft and fuzzy, and perfect to cozy up with.

TL;DR
- Helps me get a good night’s sleep. I can’t sleep without it now!
- It helps my anxiety. Nothing like having a bad anxiety day and curling up in bed with my weighted blanket. Instant soothing.
- It’s warm and fuzzy! I know you want to just sit there and pet it. I do.
