2020 WILL Be My Year, Whether it Wants to Or Not

2020 WILL Be My Year, Whether it Wants to Or Not // For 2020, I'm going to make it my time. 2020 doesn't get a choice in the matter, I'm coming into the year with a game plan and it will go my way, whether it wants to or not. Want to know what I have going on? Click here to find out.

I remember thinking back to the beginning of this year. I remember thinking how I wanted to finally take control of my life and have some good things happen to me. I wasn’t exactly in bad graces with the world, but I hadn’t had anything good going for me either.

Unfortunately, 2019 hated me so much it caused quite a few mental breakdowns. The short of it: I had to go to the hospital in February and just recently finished paying off that bill, had some tiffs with family along the way, and had so many car issues that it almost ruined my very first adult vacation.

For 2020, I’m going to make it my time. 2020 doesn’t get a choice in the matter, I’m coming into the year with a game plan and it will go my way, whether it wants to or not. Want to know what I have going on? Keep reading to find out.

Blogging Plans

This year is going to be dedicated mostly to my blog and monetizing it in ways that are more user friendly than ad placements. Everyone I know has an ad blocker of some kind anyway, so ads don’t seem worth it to me.

I have one ebook that should be ready to go up on the Amazon Kindle Store soon, so keep a look out for that in the near future! I also plan on writing more ebooks and hopefully I can use that for a source of income.

I’m also looking into Patreon, but I don’t really know what kinds of rewards to give out. If anyone has ideas for rewards, please leave a comment below!

Lifestyle Plans

I’ve been trying to keep healthy and lose weight for over a decade at this point. I’m still determined to not let my lack of will power win over this year. I’ve been doing well so far with the schedule I have, and I think I’m getting my body accustomed to eating only the 1200 calories my body is supposed to have per day.

What I do need to work on is my snacking. I’m terrible with snacking and I give myself at least one snack a day. I need to get my taste buds on board with healthier options like fruit. If you have any healthy snacks you love, let me know! I’m open to trying new things at least once.

Career Plans

This goes hand in hand with the blogging plans. My current position gives me the time to blog when I want to, and despite not being thrilled with my salary, to me the positives outweigh that negative.

I can keep gaining skills, taking courses, and showing my worth. On the plus side, a lot of the skills I would be learning for my job also work for blogging, and vice versa. So I get double the usefulness out of any kind of training course, webinar, or ebook I read.

Relationship Plans

While I’m not currently in a relationship, I’ve technically been single for almost 10 years at this point. My last relationship ended February 2010. I think it’s about time to get back into the swing of things.

Especially with the epiphany of figuring out how I want to live my life, which is as a housewife/blogger, it’s kind of hard to be a housewife without being a wife… or having a house. However, it gave me a great idea for a new blog/segment of this blog, so stay tuned for potential Single Housewife content!

TL;DR

Having plans for the various aspects of my life gives me the confidence to kick 2020 in the butt! The plans are:

  • take this blog more seriously by self hosting and monetization! (don’t worry, I hate ads just as much as you. I’ll only be advertising my own books on the side bar)
  • get my health back in order and maybe I’ll break the 15 year streak of committing and failing to lose weight and get healthier
  • keep learning more and more for my current job. It’s a bonus that the training will also work for blogging. Win – Win
  • try to find some kind of relationship. I’ve been single since 2010 and I think I’ve had my time on the sidelines. Also puts a wrench in my plan of being a housewife if I’m not a wife nor have a house.

So what do you think of my plans? Do you have any suggestions for Patreon rewards or healthy snacks? Let me know in the comments!

I enjoyed your attitude about making it your year, regardless of anything. That’s the attitude I’m trying to have too. Great read! Can’t wait for your ebook.

    1. Thank you! I want to have the site self hosted and a newsletter up and running before the ebook goes out, so that will take some time. But I’m super excited!!
